President bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. highlighted his platform for the fishery sector during the SMNI’s “Deep Probe” Presidential Interview on March 26, vowed that under his watch, fisherfolk will get the proper support from the government. 

Bongbong Marcos, the current frontrunner in the survey, told that he will help to lift the life of fisherfolk by giving them proper equipment and modern fishing vessels, citing most of them are still using old boats.

Marcos said, “In our fisheries, there is a very good potential for us kung ayusin lang natin ang ating kinukuhanan ng isda. Number one, bigyan natin ang ating mangingisda ng mas malaking bangka. Maliliit lang yung bangka nila.”

Presidential Aspirant reiterated that local fishermen should be safe in fishing without any threat to other nations. 

Meanwhile, Marcos believed that there is much need to improve in our fishing industry especially now that our government will start to import round scad from other countries. He also mentioned the urgency to attain new techniques and technologies for our fisheries sector.
